Bram Aerts

In 2011, Bram Aerts founded TRANS architectuur & stedenbouw together with Carolien Pasmans. After graduating from the KULeuven, he gained professional experience in Brussels and Antwerp. With more than 15 years of expertise in architecture and urbanism, he focuses on the creative direction of the office, customer relations, communication and research. He is closely involved in all TRANS projects, from conception to realisation, including the Leietheater Deinze, Masterplan Pelt, the Design Museum Gent, RITCS Brussels and the Dockside Tower Brussels. For various projects, the agency received (international) recognition, such as the selection for the EU Mies van der Rohe award 2019, as laureate of the Big Mat Award 2019, Belgian Building Awards and the Jo Crepain awards 2019.

Bram Aerts is a dedicated lecturer at the Faculty of Architecture KULeuven Sint-Lucas Ghent and formerly at the University of Antwerp and the Rotterdam Academy of Architecture. He often acts as an external jury member for design reviews.

Bram Aerts lectures in Flanders, Brussels and internationally and is a jury member in architecture competitions. He acts as an author and has contributed to publications such as City Made (nai 010 – 2018) and Dressed up for the City (MER Paper Kunsthalle – 2020).
